Celebrating the 150th anniversary of “Das Rheingold” and the 75th birthday of Patrice Chéreau, fidelio will feature some of the most interesting Wagner productions from the fidelio archives. Reaching from Chéreau’s “Jahrhundertring” from 1976, to the fidelio premiere of the 2018 production of “Tristan und Isolde” from Staatsoper unter den Linden, fidelio will showcase its favorite picks from the past decades.

For “Tristan And Isolde” Staatsoper Berlin called upon some of the finest Wagner experts: Daniel Barenboim is conducting his ever haunting life-task, while Andreas Schager, already a superb Parsifal and a regular guest at Bayreuth Festival, is Tristan, Anja Kampe is an unforgettable Isolde, and Ekaterina Gubanova thrills as Brangäne. Director Tcherniakov, no stranger to the opus either, once again manages to craft intense images which effectively resonate with the rapturous and voluptuous enchantments of the score.
Further Wagner productions in fidelio’s collection include the four-part documentary “The World Of The Ring” with Wagner experts Christian Thielemann and Stefan Mickisch or a spectacular production of “Tannhäuser” with Peter Seiffert from Grand Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.
