A year after his debut at New York's storied Carnegie Hall, Korean piano sensation Yunchan Lim returns to present one of the greatest masterpieces of keyboard music, Bach's astonishing Goldberg Variations. The work's beautiful aria – providing an oasis of calm at both the start and conclusion of the work – forms the basis for 30 variations that showcase Bach's dazzling compositional imagination. From the performer, they demand nothing less than technical perfection, combined with the musical intelligence and instincts to bring the music dancing off the page. And the prospect of hearing this young pianist bringing his breathtaking talents to the work marks this out as one of the truly unmissable concerts of the season.
