Stream the 2025 San Francisco Dance Film Festival
0000: SFDFF’s Online Festival streams films worldwide from 10 November - 30 November.
The San Francisco Dance Film Festival (SFDFF) invites audiences around the world to experience the artistry of dance on screen through its Online Festival, streaming November 10–30. This year’s streaming collection features a curated selection of short films from the 2025 Festival, along with four feature-length documentaries available exclusively online.
The feature film lineup offers intimate portraits of master artists and their creative legacies:
THE ALCHEMIST’S DANCE: follows flamenco legend María Pagés as she transforms movement into meditation.
JUST DANCE THE STEPS: presents a deeply personal tribute to Dutch choreographer Hans van Manen.
THE BLACK PRINCE: traces the making of "Gustavia", a production of the Royal Swedish Ballet.
ULLATE: THE DANCE OF LIFE: reflects on Víctor Ullate’s revolutionary contributions to Spanish ballet.
SFDFF’s history of presenting cutting-edge screendance continues with a diverse array of three curated short film programs. Representing a variety of contemporary and traditional dance styles, these films expertly blend choreography, cinematography, and music to explore topics that delve into the human condition.
Short film programs include: “Spotlight Shorts,” which celebrates genre-defying works that expand the possibilities of dance film; “Doc Shorts,” which captures stories of identity, resilience, and healing through movement; and “Narrative Shorts,” which explores character-driven stories where dance and cinema merge seamlessly.
