"klassik shorts" is a three-minute video format that will get you into the mood to listen to great symphonic works and presents information such as fun facts in an entertaining way.
Presenter Maximilian Maier inspires the viewers with his own enthusiasm by telling subtle, anecdotal stories of the particular piece of music, as well as by incorporating personal experiences.
Director Michael Wende ("Der Taktstock") supports this pointed style of explaining classical music with video excerpts of important, central moments of the respective work and by primarily using his unique graphic representations and sound effects.
With all these special elements, "klassik shorts" intends to draw the viewer closer to the music and deepen his musical experience.
It works both as an independent online format and on television. For the first time it will be broadcasted on ARD-alpha in December 2018, just before the TV broadcast of the appropriate work.
The first six episodes will present the following pieces:
“The Nutcracker” (Tchaikovsky), Symphony No. 9 (Beethoven), Piano Concerto No. 5 “The Emperor” (Beethoven), “Pictures at an Exhibition” (Mussorgsky), Symphony No. 9 (Dvorák), Symphony No. 1 “Titan” (Mahler).
