Pixel, Bytes + Film 2023: receive grants of up to €35,000!
Funded by the Austrian Arts and Culture Ministry, this support program for digital innovation encourages pushing the boundaries of conventional media. Submit by 5 September!
Supporting artists delving into digital forms of expression for over a decade, the Austrian Arts and Culture Ministry’s funding program Pixel, Bytes + Film rewards audiovisual experimentation beyond the familiar forms of cinema and television.
Created in partnership with ORF III, it enables experimental uses of technology in the service of art, funding film projects that explore the aesthetic and narrative potential in fields like digital animation, XR, 3D motion capturing, 360° filming and AI. It also includes endowments for professional training, theoretical study and industry networking, as well as strategies for promoting the winning proposals.
Eligible are artists who are either Austrian nationals or permanent residents in Austria who have already graduated and have realized at least some professional film projects; proposals may receive funding up to €35,000, with an expert jury choosing the winners.
Apply by 23:59 on 5 September, 2022 in German or English at pbf@bmkoes.gv.at; the jury’s selection will be announced by mid-November!
