Piotr Anderszewski – Unquiet Traveller
On the borderline between documentary & fiction, this "road movie" is a winter train journey across Poland with a piano installed on board.
Structured as a road movie from Warsaw to Budapest in a special train car with the famous Polish-Hungarian pianist Piotr Anderszewski, this film by Bruno Monsaingeon captures the most important events of the pianist’s current activities: A new CD recording, a master class, excerpts of recitals in Warsaw, Budapest, Paris, and Tokyo. Following this, we will reach the deeper exploration – the major question Anderszewski puts to himself and which is linked to what a musician’s role ideally holds for him. This theme will recur as a leitmotiv at regular intervals throughout the film.
“Piotr Anderszewski – Unquiet Traveller” includes a mini-recital in Szymanowski’s house in Zakopane, a nice mountain village in the south of Poland, a recital in Paris at the Théatre des Champs-Elysées (December 2007), documentary shootings of excerpts of recitals in the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall, in Budapest and Poznan, …
