Arthaus Musik and Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe invites you to take part in an exclusive and unique live stream of Avner Dormans first opera “Wahnfried”. Join in and watch this brand new opera about the Wagner clan, which was hailed as a masterpiece of opera by the opera press. On 28 June at 18:00 the stream starts at the website of Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe.

Due to Justin Brown leaving the Badisches Staatstheater as Music Director by the end of June 2020, we feature the world premiere of Wahnfried under his musical direction. This provocative and colourful opera spectacle tells the story of a failed and lost scientist who finds his calling in the music of Richard Wagner and gets addicted to nationalism.
