Vienna State Opera broadcasts live in front of the opera house
Numerous free live broadcasts are shown in front of the Opera Building.
In April, May, June and September, about 60 performances of the Vienna State Opera may be experienced as a live broadcast on the Herbert von Karajan-Platz. You can enjoy several opera and ballet productions—from Tosca and Eugen Onegin to Wagners Ring and Swan Lake – in a relaxed, open atmosphere – free of charge.
The live video is broadcast on a 50m2 LED screen in front of the opera house. Five remote-controlled HD-cameras and an experienced team are responsible for an outstanding high-quality product. Before each performance, informations about the opera and the cast are displayed.
