New on takt1: Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra
Franz Welser-Möst and the Vienna Philharmonic with Mahler’s “Symphony of a Thousand” at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
For the first time, takt1 presents the superlative Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Franz Welser-Möst.
The programme is suitably weighty: Mahler’s Symphony no. 8, the “Symphony of a Thousand”. Here he forges a path from the medieval hymn to the final passages of Goethe's "Faust". The concert features a first-rate line-up: top soloists Regula Mühlemann and Georg Zeppenfeld are joined by the Singerverein of the Vienna Society of Friends of Music, the Vienna Singakademie und the Vienna Boys’ Choir – A thousand noble voices!
