The Beethoven Pastoral Project
The Beethoven Pastoral Project invites artists and concert halls, institutions and ensembles from all over the world to join network that has never been seen before.
Beethoven’s sixth symphony is titled “Pastoral” and is a musical portrayal of the interrelationship between human beings and nature. The “Beethoven Pastoral Project” was created in cooperation with the UN Climate Secretariat – a call to artists around the world to link “their” Pastoral with a statement on climate change and to the United Nations sustainability goals on the official “World Environment Day”.
In other words, to explore the ways in which human beings and nature interact today. Orchestras like the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, Quatuor Ébène and the World Orchestra for Peace are already part of the network.
The “Pastoral Day” (5 June 2020) will be the culmination and highlight of the Beethoven Pastoral Project.
