Coming events cast their shadow before them: for the first time, takt1 presents a live stream of the superlative Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Franz Welser-Möst. The programme is suitably weighty: Mahler’s Symphony no. 8, the “Symphony of a Thousand”. The concert features a first-rate line-up: top soloists Regula Mühlemann and Georg Zeppenfeld are joined by the Singverein of the Vienna Society of Friends of Music, the Vienna Singakademie and the Vienna Boys’ Choir – A thousand noble voices! This staging of Gustav Mahler's colossal symphony is guaranteed to be a major event.
