Flagey Piano Days 2025: a celebration of the piano
From 12 to 16 February, Flagey Piano Days in Brussels offers an eclectic programme of piano music, showcasing diverse eras, styles and artists.
From 12 to 16 February, 2025, the Flagey Piano Days will take place at Flagey in Brussels with an eclectic programme of piano music, showcasing diverse eras and styles performed by renowned artists like Sir András Schiff, Angela Hewitt – performing Mozart’s Piano Concertos with the Brussels Philharmonic, Arcadi Volodos and the pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk who will join the Orchestre Philarmonique Royal de Liège on stage.
True to Flagey’s mission, this 12th edition of the festival also highlights emerging talents like Yoav Levanon, who made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 6, Mirabelle Kanjenjeri who is praised for her unique touch and mastery of complex techniques, Belgian pianist Florian Noack and Roman Borisov, winner of the first prize at the Kissinger KlavierOlymp 2022. The programme embraces innovative projects, like jazz artist Amaro Freitas, whose rhythmic style evokes the rainforest, and the improvisational brilliance of the jazz piano duo Tania Giannouli & Nik Bärtsch. Young audiences are invited to experience Compagnie Artichoke’s theatrical spectacle combining piano, opera, and shadow play, set to the music of Robert and Clara Schumann.
Set in Flagey’s iconic Art Deco building, renowned for its exceptional acoustics, the festival offers an engaging mix of beloved classics and shorter, accessible performances, appealing to both seasoned enthusiasts and curious newcomers.
