New Year’s Eve Concert 2019
The Berliner Philharmoniker, conductor Kirill Petrenko and star-soprano Diana Damrau play together for the first time at the New Year’s Eve concert!
The Berliner Philharmoniker and their new chief conductor Kirill Petrenko invite you to a glamorous night, in the “New Year’s Eve Concert 2019”! This is the first time Petrenko conducts the annual concert highlight from Berlin, showing himself from a new musical angle – as an interpreter of catchy Broadway melodies. In this program, you can enjoy a repertoire with compositions from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, George Gershwin’s An American in Paris, Frederick Loewe’s My Fair Lady and many more.
The ensemble is joined by star soprano Diana Damrau, also in her first performance with the Berlin Philharmoniker. The talented Damrau makes it clear once again, why she’s not only considered one of the leading singers in the lyric and coloratura repertoire, but also, that she is consummately proficient in the musical genre as well. Celebrate an evening full of singing, dancing and joy!
