Let yourself get carried away into a world of wonder, magnificent opera, beautiful choir scenes and an astonishing variety of musical forms – in Jean-Philippe Rameaus Hippolyte et Aricie.

World-renowned conductor Sir Simon Rattle, the Freiburger Barockochester and the choir of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden interpret this version of the french baroque opera.

Ólafur Elíasson is responsible for the set and costume design. In his art, he deconstructs natural phenomena and reimagines them with the use of colour, light, reflections and motion. Elíasson is known for approaching his work as an engaging, mutual dialogue with the audience.

Enjoy the fantastic cast, with Anna Prohaska as Aricie, Magdalena Kožená as Phèdre, Elsa Dreisig as Diane, Reinoud Van Mechelen as Hippolyte, Gyula Orendt as Thésée, Peter Rose as Pluto and Jupiter, Roman Trekel as Tisiphone.
