Ukraine Fire
0000: An artistic act of resistance: five Ukrainian women fight the war from exile with punk, poetry, and fire.
Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, countless citizens have taken up arms or fled the country to survive. The Dakh Daughters, a group of five Ukrainian women artists, have chosen a third path. Their weapon of choice is art.
After weeks under fire in Kyiv, hiding in missile shelters, they made the painful decision to leave their homeland and settle in exile in Vire, Normandy. From there, they launched Ukraine Fire, a visceral and poetic stage show that channels their grief, anger, and hope through music, performance, and political protest. This documentary follows them as they tour across Europe, refusing to stay silent.
Between explosive performances and quiet moments in exile, Ukraine Fire reveals a form of resistance that is raw, radical, and deeply human. It is an ode to the transformative power of art in times of war.
This is not just a concert. It is a cry for freedom, a call to conscience, and an act of survival.
