Rogê: Soulful guitar and samba grooves
Latin Grammy nominated Rogê returns to Stockholm with soulful guitar, captivating voice, and irresistible samba grooves.
Nominated for a Latin Grammy and winner at the Brazilian Music Awards, Rogê has established himself as one of the key figures in the renewal of Música Popular Brasileira (MPB). With seven solo albums and acclaimed collaborations with samba legend Arlindo Cruz (Na Veia) and Seu Jorge (Seu Jorge & Rogê), he has built a reputation as a songwriter, composer, and performer who honors tradition while pushing it forward.
When Rogê last played Fasching, he had the audience swaying and moving with just two musicians on stage. Now, the Rio-born artist returns with the full force of his soulful guitar, captivating voice, and irresistible samba grooves.
A leading voice in the revival of MPB, that rich Brazilian blend of samba, bossa nova, funk, and rock, Rogê brings new life to the genre. Since relocating from Rio de Janeiro to Los Angeles, he has been on a mission to share MPB’s colorful palette with North America, mixing sleek soul and raw samba in a sound both authentic and fresh.
His latest album CURYMAN, produced by Thomas Brenneck (The Budos Band) and arranged by the legendary Arthur Verocai, is a celebration of resilience and joy: a call to shake off the blues and embrace life. Praised by The Guardian as “a funky, genre-hopping set” and highlighted by Pitchfork as “one of the albums to hear right now,” the record confirms his place on the international stage.
Expect rich guitar tones, heartfelt vocals, and grooves that transform the room into a celebration of Brazil’s musical soul!
