#LetsBaRock: Jakub J. Orliński & Aleksander Debicz
A bold and joyful reinvention of Baroque music by Jakub Józef Orliński and Aleksander Debicz, filmed live at the legendary Olympia.
#LetsBaRock is an invitation to rediscover Baroque music. Creating covers of Baroque pieces, anchoring them in 21st century musical styles, Jakub Józef Orlinski and Aleksander Debicz have developed a unique and timeless New Baroque sound. Jakub points out that they did it for fun! This essential dimension is also present on stage, offering a festive and joyful moment. Baroque is more than just music, it's a civilisation.
A civilisation founded on appearances and hybridity. It's music that leaves plenty of room for improvisation and the blending of genres. Jakub, as one of today's great performers, felt this and decided to open the borders and melt styles. With his countertenor voice, drums (the fundamental pulse), keyboards and bass, he revisits music, moving from baroque to hip hop and from pop to jazz, in an original and very contemporary mix.
Jakub's charisma, his vocal timbre, his acrobatics and the way he manages to sweep an entire audience along with him mean that this performance is not just a concert, but a real show, and should be filmed as such in a legendary venue: the Olympia!
This performance can be paired with the documentary “Jakub Jozef Orlinski, music for a while”
