Haydn’s Die Schöpfung takes centre stage at the Konzerthaus Berlin, with Joana Mallwitz conducting the Konzerthausorchester Berlin and the RIAS Kammerchor in a performance filmed in February 2026. One of the great achievements of the oratorio tradition, the work draws on texts from Genesis, the Psalms and Milton’s Paradise Lost, unfolding a vision of the world shaped by musical imagination and Enlightenment thought. Mallwitz brings characteristic conviction to a performance defined by clarity, momentum and a strong sense of musical narrative, with a line-up of soloists including Elsa Dreisig, Kieran Carrel and Tareq Nazmi. Together, they set out to illuminate the theatrical sweep and essential warmth of Haydn’s consummate masterpiece.
