The Festival Academy, an initiative of the European Festivals Association (EFA), offers various training formats on festival management to young, dynamic and passionate festival makers worldwide focussing on the essence of festivals, the arts and the artists.

Festival Production Management Training Antwerp

Module I of the fourth edition of the Festival Production Management Training will take place in Antwerp, Belgium, from 16-19 January 2019.
The Festival Production Management Training is s set up as a long-term programme which explores all phases of producing an artistic work: a programme with 3 modules spread over a period of one or more year(s).

All participants of the training programmes of The Festival Academy will become part of a unique global network of young festival makers and production managers that counts 555 alumni from more than 75 countries and all continents to date, after 13 Ateliers for Young Festival Managers since 2006 in Görlitz, Varna, Singapore, Izmir, Ljubljana, Edinburgh, Poznan, Beirut, Gwangju, Budapest, Chiang Mai, Merano and Johannesburg, one Atelier for Young Festival and Cultural Managers in Shanghai, 2017, and three editions of the Festival Production Management Training (2016, 2017, 2018).

The deadline for the Festival Production Management Training is extended to 30 September 2018 in order to give more production managers the chance to apply.

Atelier for Young Festival Managers Valletta 2018

Festival managers from all over the world can still apply to the 7 days programme until the 15th of September!

Up to 35 selected applicants will participate in the 7-day training programme during which they will discuss various aspects of festival management with renowned festival managers from pioneering festivals and outstanding art centres and institutes from all over the world.

The programme is focusing on the topics and issues raised by the participants which will be further developed and elaborated during the Atelier. These topics will be examined in panel discussions guided by renowned festival leaders from across the globe, but also in small working groups, thematic lunches, cross-discipline round tables and plenary sessions. Participants will be able to share and exchange their experiences and reflect on their topics. Mentors will share their rich experience and answer participants’ questions along the way. There is also space for more informal one-to-one talks during meals and cultural visits. The sharing of experiences on an equal footing and networking are key to the Atelier.
