On Valentine’s Day, 14. February, the ARD has announced the award winners of this year’s “Programmprämien“ for “particularly successful productions“. EuroArts Music is delighted that the production “Europakonzert 2018 from Bayreuth“ has won the award “Big Entertainment (> 45mins)“, including a prize money of 60.000€.

“That‘s fantastic news, and it is another step forward to future productions”, said Jan Bremme, Producer at EuroArts Music. Prof. Dr. Karola Wille, ARD Film Director-General and Director MDR, highlights the reliable and strategic partnerships with the alliance of producers that strive to maintain a diverse and lively German culture and creative landscape.“ Jan Bremme: “We will make our very best contribution and we are very much looking forward to continue the development of innovative and high-quality audiovisual content“.

The awarded “Europakonzert 2018” was recorded in Bayreuth. For the first time, the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Europakonzert was conducted by Paavo Järvi, who caused a sensation not least with his recordings of Beethoven’s symphonies. The Wesendonck Lieder are a nod to Richard Wagner, performed by soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek.

In 2019, the Europakonzert will be recorded at the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Daniel Harding, conducts eminent works by Wagner, Berlioz and Debussy and bass-baritone Bryn Terfel appears as soloist with the Philharmoniker again for the first time in 18 years. A live signal will be available.
