In 2020, Ludwig van Beethoven will be the focus of the Staatskapelle Berlin’s great open-air concert. Star pianist Lang Lang will play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 and Daniel Barenboim will conduct this work modelled on Mozart, as well as Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 9. with its insistent appeal to humanity and its forward-looking utopian character.
