The Académie France-Chine was launched in 2018 by the outstanding pianist Zhu Xiao-Mei together with the generous support of Cartier. The purpose of the academy is to promote music education and training, to encourage the emergence of new artists and to foster cultural exchange between France and Europe on one side, and China on the other. During their year at the academy, the laureates are given the opportunity to develop and refine their art, to give concerts, and for some of them to present their talent in a CD recording. At the end of the year, the laureates perform a concert; the first one will take place at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris.

Four young pianists were laureates in the Academy’s first year: CHEN Sa (who has already recorded several CDs), CHEN Xue-Hong, CHANG Zhen and CHEN Yunjie. Accentus Music has teamed up with the Académie France-Chine and has recorded three concerts of the academy laureates. All three CDs will be released and presented at the final concert at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris on May 25, 2019.
