The Berlin label EuroArts announces a collaboration with the newly founded Rachmaninoff International Orchestra (RIO) and the production company San Francisco Classical Recording Company (SFCRC).

Born of a singular moment in history, the Rachmaninoff International Orchestra embodies the vision of Mikhail Pletnev, its founder and artistic director. “Mikhail Pletnev has deepened his commitment to artistic freedom with his founding of the Rachmaninoff International Orchestra,” said Sergey Markov, RIO General Manager. “The orchestra has a vital role to play in bridging divides and inspiring peace through the universal language of music.”

Composed of preeminent musicians from Eastern and Western Europe, the RIO’s recordings and performances draw from the wide breadth of classical repertoire, with a focus on the Romantic and modern composers whose works have been the hallmark of Mikhail Pletnev’s celebrated interpretations.

The first two titles have been released in April digitally on all relevant streaming and download platforms and physically on SACD (Rachmaninoff Live – The Piano Concertos & The Paganini Rhapsody, recorded in Rolle, Switzerland, and the first studio recording RIO plays Swan Lake Suite & Carmen Suite). Many more titles will follow in the coming months.
