GRAFENEGG MIDSUMMERNIGHT'S GALA 2017
Open Air Live Broadcast from the Grafenegg Festival featuring Aida Garifullina, Khatia Buniatishvili & Dmitri Hvorostovsky.
It is the season’s sparkling highlight from the Grafenegg Festival: the traditional Open-Air Midsummer Night’s Gala featuring international stars at the “Wolkenturm” (“cloud-tower”) stage, with its futuristic stage design that has become a symbol of the Festival. 2017 sees Russian vocalists Aida Garifullina and Dmitri Hvorostovsky adding Grafenegg to the roll-call of leading operatic venues around the world where their great voices have been heard. They are joined by Georgian star pianist Khatia Buniatishvili, who just won an ECHO-Klassik award for her recent album. Alongside Yutaka Sado and his Tonkunstler Orchestra they will perform a Gala programme to welcome the summer. As it is already a tradition, this atmospheric evening concludes with a firework display to Edward Elgar’s “Pomp and Circumstance”.
Live Signal available on Friday 23 June 2017.
