Flagey Piano Days – Thousand Faces of the Piano
Five days of piano in Brussels showcasing styles, generations and artists—from Aimard and Rana to rising talents and homegrown Belgian voices.
Flagey Piano Days returns to Brussels from 11 to 15 February 2026 with five days devoted to the instrument in all its variety. The festival brings together major names, rising stars and emerging voices across classical, contemporary, neoclassical and jazz-tinged projects. Audiences can enjoy artists they already admire, discover new ones, and experience formats from traditional recitals to late-night crossover sets.
Renowned pianists headline this edition. Elisabeth Leonskaja marks her 80th birthday with a solo recital and a concerto with the Brussels Philharmonic. Beatrice Rana makes her Flagey debut with Prokofiev, Debussy and Tchaikovsky, while Pierre-Laurent Aimard builds a thoughtful programme around Schubert and György Kurtág. Belgian icon Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden also returns with works by Franck and Schubert.
Newcomers share the spotlight. Eric Lu, fresh from major competition success, performs Schubert and Chopin. Tony Siqi Yun mixes Beethoven, Liszt and Schumann; Jonathan Biss brings a programme stretching from Mendelssohn to Janáček; and Ionut Cibotariu explores Romantic repertoire. Two late-evening concerts by Laurie Torres and Niklas Paschburg blend piano with electronics and atmospheric textures.
Well-known festival favourites are back, including Plamena Mangova, Dmytro Choni, Alexander Malofeev, and the duo Julien Libeer with Korneel Bernolet.
Alongside the concerts, visitors can explore an exhibition of rare instruments from Piano’s Maene and attend free talks offering context and insights. Over five days, Flagey turns into a meeting point for music lovers
