Composed in 1841 by an internationally renown Donizetti, Linda di Chamounix, is a semi-serious opera which mixes pathos and irony.The plot revolves around a beautiful and virtuous girl, Linda, in love with Viscount Charles but threatened by his uncle, the Marquis of Boisfleury. After a series of accidents and misunderstandings, the happy end is finally granted.This programme was recorded at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in January 2021.
The cast: Jessica Pratt in the title role, Francesco Demuro, Michele Pertusi, Teresa Iervolino, Vittorio Prato, Fabio Capitanucci, Marina De Liso, and Antonio Garès. Michele Gamba on the podium, stage director: Cesare Lievi.
