The “Bossa Nova Noites: Bahia Nights” concert is presented in three 30-minute parts.
We synergize the great legacies of Bossa Nova, Samba and Brazilian popular music and great legacies of Chicago music.
Part 1: “Legado” (legacy)
Features classic Brazilian songs performed by an all-star ensemble of Brazilian musicians led by Quincy Jones and Al Jarreau star arranger Larry Williams, and new Brazilian star vocalist: Monique Elen.
Part 2: “International” (instrumental + vocals)
Features American jazz star Najee, Frank McComb, Robert Irving III, Larry Williams, and Monique Elen with our Brazilian all-stars.
Part 3: “Alquimia” (alchemy)
Features original songs and Chicago soul and British soul classics “set in Brazil” (the current album that is on the charts in the U.S. and Europe) — performed by Monique, Najee, Frank, Larry, Monique and our Brazilian all-stars.
