A perfect combination: Rouvali & Hamelin
Brahms’ colossal First Piano Concerto and Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra.
Phenomenal pianist Marc-André Hamelin is a true virtuoso, displaying minute details as well as thundering fireworks. In this programme he performs Brahms’ colossal First Piano Concerto with the Gothenburg Symphony, who also impress with their virtuosity in Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra and in Katarina Leyman’s atmospheric study of the sun, Solar Flares.
The concert is conducted by the young Finnish phenomenon Santtu-Matias Rouvali, and recorded in the Concert Hall in Gothenburg.
