Summer is slowly coming to an end and we look back on the rousing festival season, we are proud to be a part of:

Despite the Russian summer temperatures, the Vienna Music Film Festival in Yekaterinburg (RU) counted 50,000 visitors, 70% of which are repeat visitors who have also enjoyed screenings in previous years. Another enlightening and encouraging fact is that 50% of visitors were self-reported „Newcomers“ to cultural events and activities and we hope that their participation inspired them to further seek out the enjoyment of performing arts and other cultural engagement.

The Film Festival at Vienna Rathausplatz (AT) was first organised in 1991 and is the largest festival of its kind worldwide. In a time span of 66 screening days it attracted 920,000 visitors this year. In front of the spectacular scenery of the Viennese city hall, residents and tourists alike can not only indulge in wonderful music and dance films but also enjoy a huge variety of creative and delicious dishes.

The Music Film Festival in Brno (CZ) is magically set in the Spilberk Castle and part of the Spilberk International Music Festival by the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to delightful live performances, the IMZ is happy to contribute to the music film programming. The festival ran from 13-27 August and is a hugely popular celebration for the people of Brno as well as the entire surrounding region.

And there is still something to look forward to: The Vienna Music Film Festival in Perm (RU) will kick off on 7 September and showcase famous productions such as “2Cellos in Zagreb”, “New Years Concert Vienna 2017”, “3 Stars Vienna” and “Rigoletto”.

The IMZ hopes that all our festival partners and their visitors had many delightful summer nights and countless magical moments! See you again next season!

Be part of the Filmfestival-Summer and check out their programme!
