The 47th Innsbruck Festival of Early Music builds musical paths

The Innsbruck Festival of Early Music will be constructing musical "paths" from 11 July to 29 August. After 14 years as artistic director, Alessandro De Marchi is entering his final festival season. True to this year's theme of "paths," he invites everyone to join him and outstanding artists of the Early Music scene in taking paths together.

The operas «Olimpiade» and «La fida ninfa» as well as the scenic oratorio «Juditha triumphans» by Antonio Vivaldi are the highlights of the Innsbruck Festival. In "Olimpiade," counter-tenor stars Bejun Mehta and Raffaele Pe will compete in a musical and athletic competition. Soprano Bruno de Sà, alto Margherita Maria Sala, and others will also witness the competition.

Sophie Rennert slips into the title role of the dreaded heroine in “Juditha triumphans”. She will be joined on stage by Arianna Vendittelli and Emilie Renard, among others. Finalists of the Cesti Competition 2022 will search for their romantic happiness in the Barockoper:Jung "La fida ninfa".

In addition to the numerous free events, renowned artists such as Rinaldo Alessandrini with Concerto Italiano, Lina Tur Bonet with Musica Alchemica, and many others can be experienced in glamorous concerts in the most beautiful historic venues in Innsbruck. The Ambraser Schlosskonzerte open traditionally the festival. Alessandro De Marchi himself will set the celebratory final point. Together with the internationally acclaimed virtuoso Antoine Tamestit, he will present highlights of Vivaldi in his last concert.
