Sunny Side of the Doc 2024: Looking back at a fantastic week
The IMZ International Music + Media Centre was delighted to take part in Sunny Side of the Doc, where we had the pleasure of meeting so many passionate individuals at our booth and different events.
Sunny Side was again an excellent opportunity to connect with industry professionals and feel the pulse of arts and culture in documentary filmmaking. Our personal highlight was presenting the IMZ Award to Niemeyer 4 Ever. This remarkable documentary, produced by Special Touch Studios, The Attic Productions, and Mayana Films, compellingly showcases how art and culture can thrive in public spaces, even amidst challenging circumstances. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire team for their outstanding work.
We also applaud Intuitive Pictures for winning the Best Arts & Culture Pitch with The Shape of Blue. This project, along with four other impressive entries by AL BORDE FILMS, Solent Production, Pilum, and GA&A Productions, exemplifies the innovative spirit and creative excellence that Sunny Side of the Doc fosters. We eagerly anticipate seeing these projects at Avant Première next February.
Our participation was made even more special thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Sunny Side of the Doc team and the distinguished jury comprising IMZ Member Anna Ferens, Tiago Ornaghi, and Reda Benjelloun. And last but not least a special thanks to Katharina Jeschke for moderating the session.
Sunny Side of the Doc continues to be a pivotal event for the documentary community, providing a platform for important conversations and showcasing groundbreaking work. We are thrilled to be a part of this event and look forward to its continued growth and success. Stay tuned for more exciting developments and see you at Avant Première next February!
