The world star will perform pieces from his musical "The Last Ship" as well as timeless classics from his illustrious career.
The concert will be available online at arte.tv and on the ARTE YouTube channel from 5 March.
The ZDF/ARTE format "Sounds Like Art" invites musicians to play amidst works of art in a European museum. In this episode, Sting performs at the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. The focus is on an acoustic set in the Rijksmuseum's Gallery of Honor. Sting is currently on an international tour with his heartfelt project, the Tony Award-nominated musical"The Last Ship", and this episode includes hits from the musical, a tribute to Sting's native North East England and the now lost tradition of shipbuilding in his birthplace of Wallsend. Sting tells stories about the making of the musical and performs classics from his incredible solo career, including songs from his famous band "The Police".
The result: an encounter between classic art and classic pop that is not to be missed.
