Stanza Media's summer event cinema season 'Great Stage On Screen' launches this month with 6 of Chris Hunt's performance captures.
'Great Stage On Screen', the event cinema season of award-winning plays, musicals and concerts produced and/or directed by Chris Hunt, launches in the US this month. Plans are underway for a selected series to follow in the UK.
Curated and produced by Stanza Media and Susan Wittenberg's Ace Arts, and distributed by Spotlight Cinema Networks' Cinelife Entertainment division, its first six events won 3 Emmys and 2 Emmy nominations, as well as the stage works themselves winning 6 Tonys, an Olivier and 2 Olivier award nominations, 8 Drama Desk awards and more besides.
Stars featured include Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Judi Dench, Gillian Anderson, Ruthie Henshall, Elaine Stritch and others. The productions are: Oklahoma!; Kiss Me, Kate!; King Lear; The Merchant of Venice; Elaine Stritch At Liberty, and Some Enchanted Evening - a Richard Rodgers Gala.
The 'Great Stage On Screen' season is planned to be extended this year by adding two ballets by allied producers, and to run on an annual basis.

The Film Festival at Vienna Rathausplatz still has about half of its 65 screening days in front of it, the Vienna Music Film Festival in Yekaterinburg just started on 26 July and the Music Film Festival in Brno is getting ready for its Grand Opening on 13 August!
