sounding images, ZDF/arte explore the Finnish music
The one-hour documentary explores the Finnish music scene with acts like Apocalyptica, the Screaming Men’s Choir and violinist Pekka Kuusisto.
In celebration of Finland's 100th birthday, sounding images explores the Finnish music scene in a realm somewhere between melancholy and farce. Finish musicians like Apocalyptica, the Screaming Men’s Choir Mieskuoro Huutajat or violinist Pekka Kuusisto show “their Finland” while they are interpreting pieces of Finlands most famous composer and monolithic figure Jean Sibelius in their own unique style. Alongside and almost in passing, the film takes the opportunity to dive deep into history, lifestyle and culture of this young nation. The one-hour program will be finalized and ready for distribution beginning of November.
