Pixel, Bytes + Film-Funding Programme: Call for Proposals
The Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport (BMKÖS) is accepting applications for the next edition of "Pixel, Bytes + Film".
"Pixel, Bytes + Film" reacts to the great interest of artists in developing digital + virtual filmic works beyond the conventional formats of cinema, television, and exhibitions.
The programme supports project development and is accompanied by special skill trainings, discursive events, and opportunities for professional networking. Strategies for the dissemination and visibility of the resulting works are also part of the funding programme.
Funding is available for film projects that artistically deal with digital technologies of image production (such as digital animation, XR, 3D motion capture, 360°, AI) and explore new strategies of narration and alternative ways of presentation.
Individual artists and artist teams who have completed their artistic training and are holders of Austrian citizenship or do have their permanent residence in Austria are eligible to apply. It is a prerequisite to have produced the first filmic works independently of a training institution.
A production budget of up to 35,000 € will be made available per project. Decisions on selection and funding amount will be made by a jury of experts.
Applications can be submitted until November 2, 2021, 24:00 CET at pbf@bmkoes.gv.at.
