Our Easter offer for you: Bach’s Passions
Easter offer: Bach’s Passions on DVD and Blu-ray are available at a special price for a limited time.
Johann Sebastian Bach’s St John Passion and St Matthew Passion with Sir Simon Rattle and star director Peter Sellars are among the unforgettable highlights in the history of the Berliner Philharmoniker.
Both the public and the press were delighted with the semi-staged productions, which intensified the dramatic content of the Passion stories. The New York Times also praised the “brilliant yet energetic” playing of the orchestra, and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung the “haunting, almost unsurpassable singing of all participants”. Leading the distinguished ensemble of singers was Mark Padmore, one of the outstanding Evangelist interpreters of our time.
The editions each contain both a DVD and a Blu-ray version and can be played on all standard video players. They are presented with lavishly designed booklets in a high-quality linen cover. Bonus material includes conversations with Sir Simon Rattle, Peter Sellars and chorus master Simon Halsey, plus two vouchers for the Berliner Philharmoniker’s Digital Concert Hall.
The DVD and Blu-ray editions of both productions are now available together at the special price of € 69. The offer ends on 12 April.
