On demand: 150 years Wiener Musikverein
The 150 years Wiener Musikverein jubilee concert is now available on demand on fidelio!
Good news for those who missed the fantastic 150 years jubilee concert of the Wiener Musikverein from 6 January 2020! You can now rewatch this amazing concert in fidelio’s collection.
The legendary opening concert from the Golden Hall took place on 6 January 1870. For this special occasion – the 150th anniversary of the Musikverein – the Vienna Philharmonic performed the original programme of the historical concert. Under the baton of Semyon Bychkov, the concert virtually took place in the 19th century, which also concerns the special length of the concert and the performance practice customary at the time.
Star-violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter and Tenor Piotr Beczala performed together with the Vienna Philharmonic Beethoven‘s “Ouvertüre zu J. W. v. Goethes Trauerspiel ‘Egmont’, op. 84” and his 5th Symphony and other musical jewels. Enjoy!
