New content from the Vienna State Opera

Numerous legendary productions from the Vienna State Opera will be available on demand in fidelio’s collection.

The Vienna State Opera will celebrate its 150th birthday in May. For this joyous reason, fidelio will present several premium quality opera productions in its collection. Get ready for Donizetti’s Anna Bolena with shooting stars with Anna Netrebko in the title role, Elīna Garanča as Giovanna Seymour and Ildebrando D`Arcangelo in the role of Henry the 8th.

Another fidelio premiere will be “The World of the Ring” - Wagner’s Masterwork explained in four parts directed by Eric Schulz. This fusion of opera guide and documentary offers newcomers to Wagner an entertaining introduction to his “Ring” while keeping some surprises up its sleeve for connoisseurs. “The World of the Ring” was conducted by none other than Wagner expert Christian Thielemann and also starring Stefan Mickisch.

Moreover, Jules Massenet‘s “Manon“ will be available on demand from May. Primadonna assoluta Anna Netrebko will amaze us with her “incomparable, velvety, mesmerizingly chocolate-dark timbre“ (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung): as the tragic heroine of this production staged by Andrei Serban and conducted by Bertrand de Billy.

• Charles Gounoud's “Roméo et Juliette” with conductor Plácido Domingo and stars Aida Garifullina and Juan Diego Flórez
