The Austrian version of a round dumpling, eaten both sweet and not-so-sweet. Süße (sweet) Knödel usually involve a quark-based dough surrounding a fruit filling and covered in sugar and breadcrumbs. Yummy!

With this dish, you are in for a comforting indulgence of light pastry with a flaky, buttery crust and a juicy, spiced apple filling.
