18 OCT 2025: Ticket sales for the award-winning series have started.
Clasart Classic brings the new season of The Metropolitan Opera’s award-winning Live in HD series to German and Austrian cinemas. The season opens on October 18 with Bellini's romantic opera La Sonnambula, directed by Rolando Villazón and starring coloratura soprano Nadine Sierra and the rising Spanish tenor star Xabier Anduaga. The world's most beloved opera, Puccini's La Bohème, follows in Franco Zeffirelli's visually stunning production. Later in November, Richard Strauss' elegant romance Arabella will be presented in Otto Schenk's opulent staging. The superstar duo of Sonya Yoncheva and Piotr Beczała take the stage in Umberto Giordano's passionate tragedy Andrea Chénier.
The new year begins with another Bellini opera, I Puritani. This masterpiece of Italian bel canto opera features Lisette Oropesa and Lawrence Brownlee, promising virtuosic vocal fireworks. Celebrated soprano Lise Davidsen returns for Wagner's monumental work Tristan und Isolde opposite Michael Spyres, directed by the visionary Yuval Sharon. Soprano Asmik Grigorian will spellbind audiences as the lovelorn Tatiana in Tchaikovsky's passionate opera Eugene Onegin. The season concludes with the exciting new opera El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego by American composer Gabriela Lena Frank, a magical-realist portrait of the influential Mexican artist couple Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera.
