Live on takt1: The Viennese Opera Ball New York
This year, the musical programme of the Viennese Opera Ball New York centers on Joseph Haydn, marking the 210th anniversary of his death in 2019.
The Viennese Opera Ball in New York is already in its 64th year. This time, the musical programme centers on Joseph Haydn, marking the 210th anniversary of his death in 2019. There will also be music from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss (Junior).
This year, the debutants will enter to the Kaiser Franz Josef March, and the ball will be opened with Johann Strauss's traditional Kaiser-Walzer (Emperor Waltz). Proceeds from the 64th Viennese Opera Ball will benefit the music therapy program at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, in collaboration with the Gabrielle's Angel Foundation for Cancer Research.
All singers will attend as Guests of Honor.
