As of the beginning of the 2019/20 season, Paavo Järvi is the new chief conductor of the Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich. Among his first projects is the recording of all of Tchaikovsky's symphonies. The orchestra is also taking the Fifth Symphony on tour, also in their luggage: Aaron Copland's jazz-influenced “Clarinet Concerto”, featuring Martin Fröst. The structure of the work is unusual: it has only two movements, which are joined together by a clarinet cadenza. Before that, Bartók's subtle “Dance Suite”.
