Live on takt1: Currentzis with Le Nozze di Figaro
A declaration: The Vienna Konzerthaus starts its new season with Currentzis’ turbulent interpretation of “Figaro”. Live and exclusive to takt1.
Uncompromising, curious, meticulous and demanding – all in service of the music. When Teodor Currentzis takes on a project, he always gives his all. When his "Figaro" recording was released in 2014, featuring his own ensemble musicAeterna, it sent shockwaves through the world of classical music. Overnight, everybody knew him as classical's latest "enfant terrible". His approach to Mozart's score was not only defined by historical precision, but also by a search for friction and emotional impact. This semi-staged production of Currentzis' Figaro marks the beginning of the new season at the Vienna Konzerthaus: a real statement.
