With conductor João Carlos Martins conducting and directing the musical presentantion, the Federal Brazilian Senate will stage the artistic and musical show "Senado 200 Anos: Uma jornada histórica rumo ao futuro" (Senate 200 Years: A historic journey towards the future), as part of the House's bicentenary celebrations.

Under the conductor's direction, the Sesi São Paulo Bachiana Youth Orchestra will perform works that represent Brazil, with special appearances by soloists Juliana Taino, Jean William and Raquel Paulin.

João Carlos Martins highlights the symphonic repertoire, with the opening of "Guarani", a work that "has remained in the ears of all Brazilians for decades and decades", he recalls.

"Trenzinho do caipira" and the Prelude to "Bachianas Brasileiras n. 4", by Villa-Lobos, make up the programme, which also includes works by Chiquinha Gonzaga, Dorival Caymmi, Zequinha de Abreu, Luiz Gonzaga, Tom Jobim, Chico Buarque and Rita Lee.


HOW TO WATCH:
TV Senado, in partnership with Sesc (Social Service of Commerce), will broadcast the performance live on free-to-air and Youtube; Sesc Youtube channel and the institution's own TV stations, SescTV, will also broadcast the event live on March 25th, starting at 20h00 (Brasilia time, UTC -03:00).
