Instrumental Sesc Brasil
The longest project dedicated to instrumental music on Brazilian television.
Instrumental Sesc Brasil is Sesc’s pioneering project from the early 1980s that took instrumental concerts to the center stage of Sesc Sao Paulo's locations.
After some years when the audience could only watch the performance at the venue, the shows started being recorded and edited for television in 1990, reaching a whole new audience.
These concert had already took place in a few different Sesc addresses in Sao Paulo, always creating a meeting place where newcomers and established musicians from different genres can get together.
The project has reached more than 700 concerts so far, with an accumulated audience of over 200,000 people.
With artists such as Baden Powell, Eumir Deodato, Vera Figueiredo, Nana Vasconcelos, Hermeto Pascoal, Janne do Bandolim and Yamandu Costa, the program's website makes a large part of this history accessible to everyone.
