IMZ Music Film Festivals
The IMZ is happy to again contribute to the programme of some wonderful music film festivals. The Vienna Music Film Festival in Yekaterinburg has concluded in Mid-July, the Film Festival at Vienna Rathausplatz has still the majority of its 66 screening days in front of it and the Music Film Festivals in Brno and Perm are getting ready for their Grand Opening.
In the light of our commitment to providing broad access to the performing arts for everyone, the IMZ is happy to once again contribute to some rousing Music Film Festivals this summer.
Despite the Russian summer temperatures, the Vienna Music Film Festival in Yekaterinburg (RU) counted 50,000 visitors, many of which of which are "repeat visitors" who have also already enjoyed screenings in previous years. Another enlightening and encouraging fact is that 50% of visitors were self-reported „Newcomers“ to cultural events and activities and we hope that their participation inspired them to further seek out the enjoyment of performing arts and other cultural engagement.
The Film Festival at Vienna Rathausplatz (AT) was first organised in 1991 and is the largest festival of its kind worldwide and has served as an example for all other international Music Film Festivals programmed by the IMZ. In front of the spectacular scenery of the Viennese city hall, residents and tourists alike are invited to indulge in 66 days of multi-faceted programme ranging from magnificent opera productions over rousing pop and rock concerts to stunning dance films.
The Music Film Festival in Brno (CZ) is magically set in the Spilberk Castle and part of the Spilberk International Music Festival by the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition to delightful live performances, the IMZ is happy to contribute to the music film programming. The festival will run from 13-27 August and is a hugely popular celebration for the people of Brno as well as the entire surrounding region.
The Vienna Music Film Festival in Perm (RU) concludes the IMZ festival summer and is expected to take place on 7-8 September 2017. The Ural city of Perm has a long tradition of holding cultural events and are launching a new multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary festival this year to which the IMZ proudly contributes the performing arts film programme.
We wish our festival partners and their visitors in Yekaterinburg, Vienna, Brno and Perm many warm summer nights and countless magical moments!
