ICMA International Classical Music Awards: Winners honoured with a grand gala
The 2023 winners were celebrated in a sold-out concert at the Witold Lutoslawski National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, Poland.
This year’s International Classical Music Awards came to a worthy conclusion on 21 April with an award ceremony and gala concert!
Hosted by the Polish National Forum of Music in Wroclaw, many of the winners took the stage for an unforgettable evening of musical excellence: After some welcoming words by President of the Jury Remy Franck, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the NFM Wroclaw under its chief conductor Giancarlo Guerrero kicked off the concert alongside Special Achievement Award-winner Alessandro Marangoni with the Andante spianato et grande polonaise brillante op. 22 by Frederyk Chopin.
Other highlights included were the final movement from the Concerto for Violin, Piano and String Orchestra by Nikolai Kapustin featuring winners Maxim Lando on piano and Tassilo Probst on violin; and Gabriel Schwabe’s interpretation of the third movement of Antonin Dvorak’s Cello Concerto on behalf of Naxos, which won Label of the Year.
The IMZ would like to heartily congratulate all winners once again – and especially our members: the 2023 Label of the Year, Naxos; Deutsche Grammophon, who topped the Symphonic Music category; and Accentus Music, which took the Video: Performance and Documentaries category!
