On August 26th 2025, VBW’s celebrated production of Elisabeth, performed in front of the magnificent scenery of Schönbrunn Palace, will be shown at the Film Festival at Vienna’s Rathausplatz.
The powerful and moving musical by Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay tells the dramatic story of the life, legacy, and suffering of Austria’s famous empress. With a top-class cast and accompanied by the orchestra of the Vereinigte Bühnen Wien, the production brings the fate of the legendary monarch vividly to life under the open sky in a staging directed by Gil Mehmert.
