New Glyndebourne DVDs released in June
Two productions from the 2017 Glyndebourne Festival will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on 30 June 2018.
The first is a live recording of Australian composer Brett Dean’s new Hamlet opera, which recently won the World Premiere of the Year prize at the 2018 International Opera Awards. Directed by Neil Armfield, the production stars Allan Clayton (Hamlet), Barbara Hannigan (Ophelia), Sarah Connolly (Gertrude), Rod Gilfry (Claudius) and John Tomlinson (Ghost of Old Hamlet).
The second new release is a new staging of Mozart’s La clemenza di Tito from the in-demand German director Claus Guth, also recorded live at the 2017 Glyndebourne Festival. Among the cast are Anna Stéphany (Sesto), Alice Coote (Vitellia) and Richard Croft (Tito).
Both recordings can be pre-ordered now from the Glyndebourne Shop.
