LA BOHÈME - FROM MALMÖ OPERA
The acclaimed production from Malmö Opera shows a moving performance in a poetic contemporary setting, featuring a compelling Olesya Golovneva as Mimi.
Intitially, the story of La Bohème is set around 1830 but director Orpha Phelan sees Puccini's characters as equally at home in our times: "Their story is universal, all that is needed is to understand what it is like to be young and in love!"
The handpicked cast of internationally renowned singers is led by Olesya Golovneva performing as impressingly moving Mimi. Swedish critic's wrote: “Mimi Forever – Golovneva’s voice has a flow like glowing lava” - "This is one of the most moving renditions of Puccini's opera I have ever seen".
